"Save image" action does not respect "use external download Manager" option / Changing download directory

I'm on the nightly build of Firefox for Android below:

139.0a1 (Build #2016084319), hg-1ac598af5141+ GV: 139.0a1-20250410092904 AS: 139.20250409050339

When downloading an image by tapping and holding on it for the context options, and selecting "save image," it downloads the image straight to the default download directory rather than asking which download manager I'd like to use. Is there a way to fix this?

Side note: The only reason I'm using a download manager in the first place is because I want to change Firefox's download directory from /storage/emulated/0/Download to something else - ideally in a quick and convenient way. All other methods I've seen to do this are like 10 years old and require changing about:config, and don't seem to work anymore.
