Hi Alan, are you seeing unwanted web pages, or pop-up/full-screen windows, or little notifications in the lower right corner?

Since notifications seem common these days, you could go into the notification permissions list and remove any sites you do not trust to send notifications. See: Web Push notifications in Firefox (especially the "How do I revoke notification permission").

More generally, why would Firefox be doing this? Possibly the messages issue from an open page, or from one of your add-ons. The following article has tips for checking your add-ons: Review installed extensions.

These web push notifications are not from the Firefox web browser as the are from sites you have allowed to send you notifications. The sites are mentioned in the notification popups.
