Restore Session: Won't move, won't go away; just sits there.
This computer works fine with Firefox, but on my other one it opens to Sorry, we're having trouble getting your pages back. I don't want them back. But Ok, I'll go along with you. Try Start New Session: just buffers. View Previous Tabs? Can't remove the checks. Just buffers. I end up either shutting it down myself through Task Manger (no other way works) or waiting for the popup that Firefox isn't working, what do I want to do? I can't close it with the X. Restarting and shutting down then turning on the computer again didn't do any good.
I had this problem a few months ago, but not as severe. Hard booting worked, and as long as I specifically exited Firefox at the end, with the drop down menu, I could use Firefox. Now I can't use it on my other computer, which is where I prefer to work. I have to use something worse.

Could you try restarting it into Troubleshoot Mode (by holding Shift while launching) and then restarting back normally?
How much customizations you have on your profile? Would the option to "Refresh Firefox" to get the profile data to a more stock state be a path forwards?

Ensure you don't have Settings > Home and start up > Startup > Open previous windows and tabs enabled.

Well the manual steps are opening the profile folder, and removing any sessionstore* files and folders — which should give you a clean start regarding restoring any tabs for whatever reason.
(Hint: make a copy/backup of these files and folders in case you wanted to go back to them later. They might contain closed tab groups or pinned tabs you might want to access at a later point.)
Hitting shift has worked. Thanks very much. The computer is having other issues, so I'll replace it soon anyway. But this lets me take time to decide what to get.
