Firefox is terrible now! I have tried everything that was suggested via the Firefox support site and it hangs after browsing a few pages... Any thoughts?
Whenever I launch Firefox (which is becoming rare nowadays), the browser 'hangs' after browsing about 2 or three sites... The only way to recover is to go to the task manager and kill the browser... Note that I'm on a Windows 8.1 laptop and I have done the usual troubleshooting per Mozilla's web site... I know this is an open-source product supported by volunteers.. The adage 'you get what you pay for' applies here...

As a quick move you might try disabling your plug-in ActiveTouch General Plugin Container Version 105 . It seems to have caused some problems. Google to get a general impression.
What do you use it for?
