Is turning off DRM content the only answer I have for pauses? This fixes the problem.
I have been experiencing pauses and the browser hanging up for months. There have been several Firefox crashes where I sent in what I was doing.
I was usually in Facebook or Yahoo.
After poking around and viewing you support site I find I can stop all of this by unchecking DRM.
Is there a better solution?

Oops, I guess turning off DRM hides them. Could you turn it back on temporarily to see whether they are listed?
When content requests DRM, Firefox may download those plugins on-demand / in real time. That definitely could slow things down if they never install successfully -- Firefox might be trying over and over.

Hmm, that's very interesting. I didn't realize there was DRM protected video on Facebook and Yahoo.
When DRM is not enabled, a site that cares about DRM usually would not stream content unprotected to the HTML5 player, but would instead switch to a plugin-based player (e.g., Flash or Silverlight). Does that seem to be happening -- or are you just getting a little less video content on those sites?
Or another possibility is a glitch in those add-ons. Could you check what versions you have?
Open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side -- and they might be at the bottom now if they are disabled -- look for these:
- Primetime Content Decryption Module provided by Adobe Systems, Incorporated
- When I click the More link, there is a 17 to the right of the title; actually I had to zoom out (Ctrl- a couple times) to get the connection...
- Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.
- When I click the More link, there is a 1.4.8.866 to the right of the title
Do you have the same versions?
Oh, and, sorry to hear about the crashes. The best way to share your crash reports with forum volunteers is to paste the several most recent crash report IDs. Please check the support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" for steps to get those report IDs from the about:crashes page.
I don't have either of those add on modules. Should I install them?
If I don't have them will Firefox Lock up like it has? Turning DRM off solved a lot of problems.

It wasn't there before turning DRM off. When I turned DRM back on the Primetime Content Decryption Module loaded.
It has not seemed to effect operations. I watched a video on Youtube and Firefox (At the same time).
I am going to consider this resolved.
