Start page doesn't work well.
When I open FF, it doesn't have the starting page I want it to have. I've tried setting the right starting page dozens of times, reset FF multiple times, but it doesn't work.

Coupled with your 'new tab' question over here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1063551 - sounds like you picked up some malware.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Well, all problems seem to have disapeared for now, without doing anything...
After you have sorted out the problem, use these;
Bookmark and use this; Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
Settings Guard for Firefox {web link} Detects and resets changes to settings that are frequently done by add-ons and application installers.
Does the setting of the home page change?
You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.
If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:
Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.
- Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0
- Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.
