I cannot delete a bookmark folder affected by a virus that causes newly saved bookmarks to propagate and have re-installed Firefox twice.

Each time I select the affected folder the bookmark menu freezes and I get a message regarding "Debugging script". When I select this it does not help and Firefox crashes. All other bookmarks and folders function well. This all began when I noticed that bookmarks I saved to the folder in question replicated themselves. At first, I could delete the duplicates. Finally, the entire folder became inoperable when the latest bookmark saved replicated 100+ times and I was unable to delete it. I had bookmarks synched on 3 computers. I have been able to delete the folder in question on the PC and laptop that were not in use when the problem originated. I have disconnected the affected laptop from my synch account. Has anyone heard of this before and what should I do?
