firefox started signing me out of sites when it closes or updates even though clear browsing data is unchecked

In the past couple of weeks (say Sept 2026), Firefox has started signing me out of everything when it closes or updates even though 'clear browsing data' is UNchecked. What else can I do to stop this?

And is Firefox signing you out, or the sites are? If you go to "Manage cookies and site data", are the sites still listed there? Meaning the cookies are still available, just the sites no longer trust them for the login session at this point?
