Already have an iphone account. Firefox keeps asking me to sign up on phone to complete MacBook installation. But I cannot install Firefox on my phone anew, because it is already there. So i get an error on my laptop telling me I have not completed Firefox installation

You don't actually need to install Firefox on other devices in order to complete your setup. The message is probably poorly worded, but it's just encouraging you to install Firefox on all your devices so you can sync your information between them.

You are free to ignore the message and continue using Firefox on your mac, with no problem! If you do want to sync your mac and iphone, you can use a Firefox Account to do so
