How can i add a category to an email?
I would like to categorize my email and then move it to a folder. It would be easier to find emails this way. i use categories in outlook at work and want to use it here as well in Thunderbird at home.

I'd look at tags. You can set them manually. You may be able to set them automatically based on sender, topic etc by using filters. And you can use filters to sort by tag into different folders.
