Want to open multiple windows not tabs; won't let me.
I have Windows XP. Since I upgraded to 7.0.1 (and today 8.0) I have not been able to open multiple windows of Firefox. I have not ticked OPEN TABS INSTEAD OF WINDOWS, but Firefox either opens nothing at all, when I try to start a 2nd window of it, or it opens a tab. Please fix this.

Does it still happen ifyou start Firefox in Save mode?
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
If it does work properly in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The default Theme is what my 8.0 Foxfire has, and it is still opening up TABs and disallowing new windows.

If I disable all extensions, then I can open a 2nd Firefox window externally (not within Firefox but from the task bar), but when I click on a link within Firefox, it still opens a TAB, and not a new Window.
