Firefox keeps freezing then crashing and a window opens saying "The Plug-In container for Firefox has stopped working..."

Every 5 minutes or so Firefox will freeze and if I'm on a website that uses the flash player the ads and what not will stop and an error thing replaces them and says Adobe Flash Player has crashed. Then a window pops up and says "The Plug-In container for Firefox has stopped working..." or something like that. Then my laptop will work slower until Firefox crashes. Any solutions ?
