A google search will work, but the links (including the google control links at the top such "AI Mode All ... More Tools" are not active. Often there is a message at the botton of the screen indicating some external site is being accessed. During this time, other sites that do not have external references will quickly open in other tabs (bwi.com is a good example). After about 20 minutes, everything magically starts working correctly. Disabling "secure DNS" does not correct this problem.
