My Dell Precision Laptop from 2019 runs a frequently updated Ubuntu 24.04. About one or two weeks ago, after one of the latest Firefox updates, i noticed that video streaming produces rectangular flickering in rapid sweeps. ( Also fast scrolling large text websites produces similar flickering, I think I would have noticed it before...) . If you detected it once, you see it always again... :-( First I fiddled around with the nvidia settings because the driver was also recently updated, without much success. Playing locally stored videos, e.g. with VLC media player, still works fine, so the nvidia driver is not the problem i think. Yesterday I installed Chromium and the video performance is fine! As good as with firefox some weeks ago! So it must be one of the latest updates, that causes the problem. Generally I like firefox more than chromium. I like the control you have, e.g. via Add ons.. So I hope that the firefox performance will increase again... Thank you for firefox! Florian Mengedoht

I have a 2021 IMAC desktop OS 13.7.8 In the last few days I have updated to Firefox 150.0 since then, my computer will not sleep if Firefox is open even if I select the Apple menu---sleep to manually make it sleep, it goes dark and comes back awake within 5-10 seconds. I CANNOT get it to sleep with Firefox open. If I close FIrefox, then I can get it to sleep. ANy windows that I keep open are windows I have had open for weeks and this did not affect the IMAC;s ability to sleep in the previous version of FIrefox. The only thing that has changed is FIrefox so I am telling you there is a problem...PLEASE fix it asap.

YES.....I have , as suggested in help sources.....done these..... 1)Settings > Privacy & Security > Autoplay and set it to "Block Audio and Video" 2)about:config in the address bar, search for media.video-wakelock, and set it to false

I've just opened one simple Web site (in addition to Mozilla), and already CPU usage sits at about 20%! Please refer to my recent posts here at "Why is Firefox Suddenly Taking Over my CPU?" for the problem description. hi, I have this odd issue lately that when I type something in the browser, search engines in particular, then hit the enter key on the on screen keyboard, and then click inside the same inputfield again that the backspace button switches behavior and no longer affects the text field but deletes the last letter from the word in the auto-correct-suggestion panel diirectly above the keyboard. clicking back into the browsers textbox doesn't help either. I have to press backspace several times until auto-correct stops suggesting new words, (turning off auto suggest doesn't fix it) then focus returns to the inputfield in the browser

I can repro it with multiple keyboard apps (microsoft & heliboard), on different search engine websites but it only happens in Firefox not in chrome nor any other Android app.

I also noticed that when I move the text cursor somewhere with a tap in this input field and then hit backspace, then it will show the context menu (copy, paste, insert...) for less than a second and instantly close it again. Pressing backspace a second time doesn't trigger it again until you move the input cursor with a tap again.

I only use uBlock but disabling it didn't help. Phone: Nothing 3

Youtube playback causes Firefox to freeze up. Just the tab that is playing, not the entire browser. I have reinstalled firefox, used recommended settings and I have no addons or extensions. Other browsers work fine and there is nothing wrong with my computer. It is only firefox. This has been happening for about a month now.

When i start to use Firefox and browse internet, usage of ram memory slowly rise up to max, using 5-10 GB, i disabled AI, same problem, don't know if something with Youtube causing this, every open tab is consume too much of ram memory. I think it started yesterday or day before. Installed again Firefox, same problem, if i have more open tabs, quickly rise consumption or ram, i have 16GB. Now 4 tabs, FB and 3 Youtube, more than 5.6BG. In Task Manager shows Firefox (20), 20? only 4 tab open and ram rises.

Today Firefox has suddenly started using ~20% of my CPU capacity, causing my cooling fan to run high most of the time. Since I had been running Firefox v.149.latest, I tried updating to v.150.0, but that made no difference.

It's not Firefox by itself (only Task Manager open) but whenever I open another tab with almost any website (including this one) that CPU usage spikes. What gives?!

Details: Running under Windows 10 Pro (yes, I have installed the ESU package, good until thi8s fall) on a Lenovo P1 Gen 2. Currently running Firefox inside a Sandboxie Pro v1.17.4 sandbox.

For about a month, Firefox on Android has had a frequent problem where it stops loading pages and shows a blank page if I try to go to any open tab. The app is not frozen because I can click on things, ie, click on the browser bar and type in a URL, but no pages are visible. Force quitting the app fixes the problem. This is not only annoying but has other issues like losing any incognito tabs. After March or Febuary I think? Bookmarks become incredably slow. My device is a S20 FE rooted using U.N.1.C.A ROM and using Snapdragon 865 processor. It took roughly 80 seconds or more just to open the main bookmark folder. I also have big bookmark folders but it worked fine on the last update. I'm experiencing an issue with the latest Firefox update. If I refresh a link/page the browser "spins out" in a rapid endless refresh cycle. In some cases, I receive an error message, "too many requests," and in other cases, the browser "locks up" and quits responding at all.

Is this a known issue?

FF can take 30-60 seconds to render ANY page after waking the computer from sleep. Windows 11 fully up to date. I've taken a profile during this time and you can see memory cycling up and down about every 5 seconds but I'm unclear what else I'm seeing there. I also see very little network traffic in the profile. I typically have 6-7 tabs open, and other programs on my computer, e.g. email, are not showing this lag.

Kubuntu 24.04 with various Firefox iterations including 149.0.2. It happens on stand alone, snap and flatpak versions. I do not know what triggers this problem. As far as can tell it only occurs on Wayland and not on 'X'. .... After using Firefox normally for a while I first notice the problem when I can't click into the separate search box on the toolbar, then I find I can't drag the tabs around as per usual. Then, if I click on a toolbar icon it does not respond. In summary, the toolbar becomes inoperative. I do have 9 pinned tabs but I can often have many more standard tabs up before I ever notice the problem and, today, when it occurred I only had 3 additional tabs up. So, I can't tie the problem to the number of tabs.

I noticed in the past day that Firefox started using alot of ssd. It wasn't doing this before, I've been a Firefox user for years now. I'd like to stay that way rather than going with Google or Microsoft. I don't trust some of the other small companies with browsers. I like the fact that Firefox uses it's own engine too. In the last day it started using alot of disk for no reason. How do I fix this. Well, well, well. I just noticed that Icloud from Apple was using alot of disk too and when I shut it down in task manager it stopped. Firefox disk use is virtually none just like Microsoft Edge. So it's some kind of interaction with Icloud that is causing that. But it wasn't doing that before. I have task manager open most of the time to catch stuff like that. My system is decent I have a 2TB 990, 2TB 980, and a 2 TB 860, with and AMD 5800x, 32 GB of ram and an Nvidia rtx 470. Maybe some kind of backup with Icloud was happening, that isn't with Edge. So I know shutting that off works. Icloud is useful for backing up things from my phone though.

The keyboard freezes on the screen after pressing enter on a search performed in a new tab. This issue occurs specifically when the tab is opened through the tab tray interface (grid view) and does not happen when the tab is opened using the plus sign (+) on the main bar. To reproduce the bug, you must first open the tab switcher and create a new tab from there. After typing any search term and pressing enter, the keyboard remains stuck on top of the browser, blocking the view of the content. It only disappears if the user minimizes the app or opens the Firefox menu. This behavior has been confirmed on Android 11, 13, and 14, affecting all versions of Firefox. The error persists even after a factory reset of the device, on clean installs with no configuration changes, and across different keyboard apps. The bug happens in both normal and private tabs and has also been reported by other users on Reddit.

When I open Firefox, my main tab goes back to the homepage. First, search or bookmarks or any link do not load and revert to the homepage instead. However, on my second attempt, everything works fine. This bug happens every time I restart the app or close it. Please address this problem quickly, as I am using Firefox for Android downloaded directly from the Google Play Store, and I have the latest version, 150.0. I initially reported this issue in version 149.0.1 and would appreciate a quick fix.

When I switch tabs from Google Maps to something else and back again, my browser often freezes and I have to restart Firefox. This also happens with websites that integrate Google Maps. I tried switching off several extensions, but the problem persists. It never happened to me on older Firefox versions. Is there any solution to this?

I have notice when there are multiple tabs open and multiple extension running the app seem to lag with page reloading ( youtube, google, insta)

Also PIP for youtube is broken with maybe hyperos 3 Youtube controller or browser customize controller for youtube
