Issue: When Firefox starts after a system reboot, it starts on the incorrect desktop. This seems to be off by one; that is, I have Firefox assigned to Desktop 3 (using the Dock icon's Options menu). Under normal operation, it starts on Desktop 3, but after a reboot, it seems to start on (more recently) Desktop 2 or (earlier) Desktop 4. Unsure about what causes it to prefer 2 vs. 4.

This seems to happen after I've shut down (quit Firefox normally, shut down without reopening windows on login, power goes off, power on, log in, then click on the Firefox icon in the Dock) or after a system update (which reopens windows on login for me after rebooting and installing the update). It does not seem to happen after a Firefox update or after quitting Firefox normally and then restarting it from the Dock icon right away.

Pretty irritating, as I have major applications assigned to specific desktops, and Firefox is the only one that seems to forget which desktop it should be on.

Details:

Firefox 150.0.3 (aarch64):

  • Settings > General > Startup > Open previous windows and tabs > TRUE (checked)

macos 26.5 (25F71) Tahoe:

  • Dock > Firefox application icon > [Right Click] > Options > Assign To > This Desktop (i.e., Desktop 3)
  • Apple Menu > Shutdown > Reopen windows when logging in: FALSE

All the tabs, in both my profiles are constantly crashing. I cannot keep at a task for more than a few minutes without needing to restart the tab. Is this a setting problem? I've cleared the cache, and reset Firefox, to no avail. Thank you for any relevant advice and/or assistance.

Hello brothers and sisters, i am need help! I'm experiencing performance issues when surfing the 9GAG website. The amount of RAM consumed by this page is growing exponentially. It's gotten to the point where this tab can consume up to 5GB of memory, and that's not the limit. This issue hasn't happened before. I can't figure out what's causing it.

What I did to fix the problem: I reinstalled the browser. I reinstalled add-ons. I reset my old profile, saving only bookmarks and passwords. I reinstalled the operating system. None of this helped. However, my friends don't have this problem with this site. Please help.

Prior to the latest release I could easily log into the site https://fun.chicagotribune.com/game/tca-jumble-daily. I can login in but once at the player page I must enter command shift R to reload the page afresh. The response is very slow relative to the previous edition of Firefox. There are other examples I could site with similarly odd behavious. Just today I tried to make a reservation with resy. I got a total runaround to my entries. I eventually gave up and used Safari and everthing proceeded as expected and I made my reservation.

All my attempts to pay online with 2 out of my 3 cards have failed in the last 2 weeks. The Mastercard says it has connected to my bank and I'll get an SMS - but the SMS never arrives, and when I phoned my bank, they said they had no authorisation attempts reach them at all! The Visa card simply says it failed at the first step, without saying why or serving up the usual security dialogue. (The other Visa card just works).

I suspect the Autofill may be the problem here. I've recently had other scenarios where FF filled in a field for me, but the Javascript behind the website refused to accept it, eg saying it wasn't a valid phone no when it clearly was. The only way to get round this seems to be to type in the complete value yourself, which rather defeats the object. It could be something else, but it's clearly dependent on which software's running behind the card, as the third card succeeds.

Hi - I love the themes available in Firefox. However, some themes I use change my Bookmarks section to "dark". I assume that is by design. However, is there any setting in themes that will enable the Bookmarks section to stay on a light setting? If not, may I please submit this as feedback for a future suggestion? Also, the themes affect the look of part of the new sidebar. I would also like to submit as feedback this issue. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble accessing my local network devices (a 3D printer and Raspberry Pi) using short hostnames like "http://impressora3d" or "http://impressora3d/". Firefox keeps blocking the connection with the "Looks like there’s a problem with this site" error page.

I've captured a network log using 'about:networking' and I can see that: 1. DNS resolution works perfectly and points to my local IP:

  "CompleteLookup: impressora3d has 192.168.1.10"

2. Firefox is upgrading the request to HTTPS (port 443) automatically:

  "nsSocketTransport::ResolveHost [...] impressora3d:443" -> "pushing io layer [0:ssl]"

3. The device rejects it because it only listens on HTTP (port 80):

  "Bad Socket 804b000d" (NS_ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED)

What I have already tried: - Disabled "HTTPS-Only Mode" entirely in settings. - Checked "Secure DNS" (DoH) settings (set to Increased Protection and added exceptions). - Cleared history and used "Forget about this site" on the hostname. - Typed "http://" explicitly.

Firefox still refuses to connect via plain HTTP (port 80). Is there any hidden 'about:config' preference or HSTS cache forcing this behavior for local unformatted domains?

Thank you!
