Hello!
Switching between tabs used to be instant. Ever since updating to v133, it takes over a second (both through the Ctrl-Tab shortcut and through clicking on another tab in the tab bar), which is really really bothering me.
The tab bar has also started taking over a second to react visually when I hover over it with the mouse, even with thumbnail previews disabled. I have no idea what's causing this. Please help.

Please be patient with this narrative. I am new to using Firefox Color. The question will be about whether and how one can upload color variations on a theme design concept. I just had an uploaded theme rejected as "duplicate" even though close 25+ color and UI variables carefully changed. I haven't been able to find the right place to ask this question.
About 4-5 months ago after noodling around with the amazing Firefox Color tool, experimenting with changeable UI elements and color controls slowly, I slowly began building a dark theme I'd imagined but never thought I'd be able to build — not knowing anything about current day CSS. After many hours, much trial & error, I eventually landed on the kind of dark theme I'd wanted —with a very different color palette from common blacks and charcoal greys. I learned how to share it with the Marketplace, uploaded it, described it, it was approved. Thumbs up!
Please bear with me, this next part is what I do not understand and need guidance on how to be compliant with add-on marketplace rules. I'm not sure whether I should, or should not, provide links to the themes I am referencing, given my Q turns on color variants of a design scheme.
The past 3 months, having tested my first theme across a wide span of websites, some dark, some light, some wild colors, and also my being a power user of hierarchical bookmark folder dropdowns, I found a number of usability areas where I wanted to improve color UI interactions. This also after testing with my screen at full brightness, and also at night using warm light filtering. Today I set out to make a much better new dark theme, not just improving core usability but really going after a far more pleasing balance with better colors and distinctions to remove any possible distractions from web browsing no matter which site I was on.
Spent 5-6 hours revamping every element color completely, exported my new theme.xpi to the Marketplace, wrote up description, submitted for approval with the title "Dark Subtle Color - 1"; and about 5 hours later it was approved. I named it with #1 because I knew I wanted to also try some different color variations and dub that one as "Dark Subtle Color - 2".
Maybe I messed myself up with a poor naming strategy, but I'm not experienced in the norms & rules here. It is so common in design to arrive at harmony & balance in relationship to dark, medium and light UI values, after careful attention to contrast differentiation, separation, readability in browser default states, hover states, dropdown & popup states, active vs inactive tabs etc. Then one tries new colors for variety, while sticking to the relative color values of that balanced design. I've seen color variations on themes all over the web, from Chrome store to Firefox Add-on Marketplace.
I the time waiting for approval, after analyzing my submitted theme, I decided I wanted to change up the background colors of the Active and Inactive tabs to provide even greater contrast and distinctions, so that when I'm researching and have 20+ tabs open with most of them pushed out of the limited viewport, and I'm skipping between various tabs, when I have to horizontal scroll, my eye can instantly skim and locate my Active Tab ... because it is that bullet-proof different.
Really happy with those new color choices! But one change leads to another, and next thing I am changing and adjusting many more elements. Particularly after I finally dug into and figured out the 15 or so "other" UI color elements listed in the Advanced Colors for which I had previously never understood where the corresponding visual elements were located on-screen.
Yes I began with my submitted "Dark Subtle Color - 1", but I changed all together about 25 color elements -- not like some crazy rainbow world -- many were subtle improvements based on popups, selected URL, bookmark dropdowns, background and text colors, changed the color of icons, changing the opacity of the Bookmark Folder icons and their associated text labels to dial down the amount they popped out in a distracting way. I liked this arrangement very much as well, so per plan I saved the new theme.xpi file and submitted to Marketplace as "Dark Subtle Color - 3". It's a separate theme but to the untrained eye the only standout features would be the new tab-state colors.
So yes I was surprised and taken back when I later get mozilla emails stating my numbered color theme - 3 was rejected, not published: "Our review found that your content violates the following Mozilla policy or policies: - Other, specifically Duplicate: We cannot add your theme to the gallery because we do not permit duplicate copies of existing themes. We appreciate your involvement in the Theme developer community."
My question is: Was my principle error poor NAMING of the last theme? The colors are different! What am I missing about the word "duplicate"? Maybe the rule-set should be really clarified because "different color choices" and "duplicate" are 2 very different things. I spent this time to write this up so that others beside myself can be helped. Rules are always essential, but it seems to me that in pursuit of definitional purity, users are poorly served if color variations on theme arrangments are verboten. Thank you in advance.

I use different profiles for different tasks. I have an profile for streaming using a VPN and an other profile connect to my VNC-Servern using NoVNC (NoVNC is a client but has no GUI). All firefox instances lokk the same in panel - the normal red firefox icon. Is there a way to change this icon for each profile? I don't mean the icon i can customize in the *.desktop file. Can this be done with an other theme?

I recently downgraded to the stable version of Firefox from beta. I made a new profile and deleted the old one, and it still tells me this randomly. Not sure what to do now since creating a new profile (like it said) didn't work. It's more of an annoyance since everything works like normal, other than getting the error every few hours (or minutes, depends).

Hello, I am running Firefox on a W10-Pro PC. I always click the lock to check certificate validation. In the last month I keep seeing "Connection verified by a certificate issuer that is not recognized by Mozilla".
When I click for more information I see that "Norton Web/Mail Shield" does not recognize the certificate issuer. When I click on Learn More it takes me to a Firefox site "How to disable the Enterprise Roots preference" I also checked W10 certmgr.msc and I see Norton is listed. Images included below. I would love to resolve this issue. Thank you for your time.

Hello. All tabs in the browser on the PC are missing. I sent the tab from the mobile version of the browser, via the share with device button. After a while, I sat down at my computer and turned on the private version of the browser. A minute later, the standard version of the browser opened with the tab I had previously sent. But all the other tabs that were in the PC version are gone. In the usual case, when tabs disappeared when opening the private version and closing the standard version, you could use the "restore tab" command to open the standard version window with the tabs closed. But in the situation with the sent tab, this does not work. In general, I would like a solution in which, when the private window is open and the standard window is closed, the tabs on the standard window are not reset.

I've just updated from Firefox 101.0.1 to Firefox ESR 115.18.0 (I'm still using Windows 7, so can't get a more recent release). I have a program which reads a cURL command from the clipboard then runs cURL repeatedly with slightly modified versions of the command. The command is read from the clipboard rather than pasted into the command prompt window because it may be more than 4096 characters. This no longer works with the updated version of Firefox. Comparing the cURL commands from the two versions of Firefox showed lots of "^" characters had been added. For example "120Months|Yield|RiskScore" had become "120Months^|Yield^|RiskScore". When I edited the cURL command to remove the "^" characters, everything worked like it had before the Firefox update. I suspect this is related to the changes introduced by Bug 1777800. I would like to know whether the problem can be reproduced using up-to-date versions of Firefox and Windows. Starting with web page https://www.trustnet.com/fund/price-performance/t/investment-trusts?norisk=true&PageSize=25 use the network monitor to capture the result of moving to the next page of data, Copy as cURL (Windows) and use the result. Do you get a response containing the data for the next 25 funds or a very small file containing an error message?

I want to copy/clone information in my Firefox Profile (Bookmarks, Logins, ..) from one device to another. Once that was accomplished, then I would enable Firefox Sync for the two devices.
Scenario: Device “A” (Profile A): Primary/Original/Source Device “B” (Profile B): Copy/Clone/Duplicate
I understand that if I set up Firefox Sync first and then sync the two devices what I will get is a combination/fusion of the information on the 2 devices, i.e., all the “good” stuff in Profile A plus all the superfluous stuff in Profile B that I would just as soon ignore/delete – which is not what I want. This issue has been raised in a number of other posts on this forum but with no suitable resolution offered (that I could find). I’m wondering if there might be a “work-around” that would achieve the desired result.
So ... would this work?
1) Back everything up first (of course!) 2) Glean any unique information to be preserved (Logins, etc.) from Profile B and incorporate it into Profile A (Profile A now has everything essential!) 3) Purge Profile B
a) Create a New Profile on Device B (and delete old?) b) Delete everything possible from the new Profile B (default bookmarks, etc.)
4) Login to Mozilla account and enable Sync
The idea is to create a “blank” Profile on Device B so that when Profile A and Profile B are Synched together (combined), Profile A remains unchanged, and Profile B is populated with everything in Profile A (a perfect copy!).
Instead of purging Profile B as above, an alternate method might be to first “pre-load” Bookmarks in Profile B by the usual method of Backing up Profile A Bookmarks and then Restoring them to Profile B. At this point Profile A and Profile B Bookmarks would be exactly the same and Synching the two devices should make no changes to either’s Bookmarks. Logins and other information would still have to be purged, but this could at least be a head start.
Presumably this idea could be extended to more than 2 devices (but with only one being the “Primary”).
Note that I am (myself) only concerned about Bookmarks and Logins, and am thus glossing-over how other information that might be important to others (Browsing History, Tabs, etc.) might be Synched.
Could someone from Mozilla/Firefox with a knowledge of the inner workings of these features please comment as to the efficacy of this “work-around”?
Thanks.
