Cannot get PDFs to stop trying to open in Foxit after uninstalling it.

I need to use Adobe Acrobat for my PDF reader. I uninstalled Foxit and changed all of the applications under tools/options to Adobe Acrobat. But when I try to open a PDF file in Firefox it always fails with an error message "Could not find Foxit." How do I get this to stop?
