Weird unreadable font randomly appears on some texts while I am using Mozilla Firefox Browser 106.0.4 (64-bit). It is really random: I can access a webpage and the issue appears. I go to the same page a few minutes later and everything works fine. I can be using Firefox for few days without any issue, and suddently it starts again.

I attach two images showing two last times when it happened.

I tried once solving this but Go to your font directory and delete all the HELVETICA fonts, especially the "Helvetica Neue Thin" font. I had to use SHIFT+DELETE to make sure it was gone for good, and I also had to close and reopen the font folder a couple times. Once they were gone...BAM! No more font issues on the pages that were driving me crazy!

Regards, James

Thanks for the help with this issue. Could you please let me know where can I find the "font directory" exactly? Is that a directory in the firefox installation path?

You can right-click and select "Inspect" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.

You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Fonts tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.

Do you have any programs from the company "Ample Sound"? AmpleSoundTab sounds like a font that comes with some of their programs, but I can't understand why it suddenly appears on those pages where it doesn't belong. ??

Yes, I have a directory in my Program Files (Windows) called "Ample Sound". I was looking there but I dont see any reference to fonts. It would be great if Firefox could somehow let us know where it is reading that font from. Do you know if that's possible?

Well, I finally found that font. In my case c:/windows/fonts is the path where it is. Regarding the reason why it appears, my suspicion is that it is related to the fact that it is the first one in my c:/windows/fonts folder (I mean alphabetically). I just renamed it so my first one (alphabetically) right now is Arial. I will see how it affects firefox or ample-sound software in the following days. Thanks a lot!
