Recently transferred from Chrome. My understanding was Firefox private browsing was supposed to work similarly to chrome incognito mode; once you close the browser, all local files are deleted and cookies are cleared.

However, with Firefox it maintains my logins. If I log into an account while private browsing and the close the browser, I’ll still be logged in next time I go to the website even if it’s days later (and I have never logged into this account in a non-private browsing window!)

I never had this issue using chrome incognito, so it seems to be a Firefox problem.

Is this just not something Firefox supports? Is there any way to prevent storage of cookies and private data?

I am looking to turn on review checker and cannot see how to do it. I don't have the price tag icon displayed nor do I have any reference to Review Checker in my settings. I'm wondering if my version of Firefox supports it (133.0). Any ideas?

I clicked on a link in an email and FF began opening it. It then stopped and gave a message that the site was causing FF to run slow. That was an understatement, as FF never continued and didn't fully open the site. I copied the URL to Chrome and it had no problem quickly opening the site. What do I need to fix in FF to make it happy again? When will Gecko-based Firefox Android increase the number of default search engines in 2025?

Currently it hosts only Big Tech namely Google and Microsoft Bing and DuckDuckGo, which is Bing and MSN results in DuckDuckGo and Qwant (same Bing results) latter which works only in the UK.

I'm using Gecko-based browsers like Fenix and Mull and Iceraven, and they all come with like 5 to 10 search engine options.

Adding new search engines is a mess and doesn't sync with Firefox account settings, so futile efforts.

Even Chrome allows us to select our search engine, if we are visiting it too much.

Is Firefox really privacy based browser or just Big Tech in Firefox like Google as default search engine out of the box, no asking which the XYZ user wants?
