How do I stop pup ups with several different warnings. At the top of ALL popups say Mozilla Firefox . I clicked DISMISS, then another one will pop up. 1.) Red shield with the word Warning! Click here to secure device! anti virus notification. 2.) Red and black shield say Virus found. 3.) Blue Windows symbol with a the yellow triangle and !, Click here to remove it 4.) red setting wheel, Trojan virus detected, Scan and delete your system.

You know how you can block pop-ups and third-party redirects on firefox desktop, then make a list of exceptions? Is there a way to do this on firefox for android as well? This screen keeps popping up and its driving me mad lol.

Regarding the new built in Firefox VPN. If I have Tabs open and Enable the VPN on a New Tab, does it then affect all previously opened Tabs, only the New Tab, only the New Tab and Tabs opened after that initial New Tab, or ? I need help with annoying pop-ups. I followed instructing. It only say allow, not block, when I go to settings, security & privacy, checked block pop-ups and third party redirects.

I assume Mozilla developers are working on this?

My iPhone full screen is frozen in the Firefox app due to a pop up scam. I've tried a forced restart as well as running airplane mode to be able to delete the URL. But, this hack is different from the couple of other times this has happened to me. The URL is also frozen. After a forced restart the URL is accessible for just a millisecond before it changes to "viruvpnapp.com" and freezes. There isn't any time to delete it before it freezes. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the Firefox app. I've also closed the app and then shut off Wi-Fi and cellular and then reopened the app thinking that the pop up would not be able to connect. But, it was still there. Any suggestions?

so...firefox veryfing my traffic recently..maybe to see if i'm human? idk but problem is when i go to a new tab it shows my ip...and i would like that not to happend...i mean what if i'm live while browsing...that is not normal..wanna verify my traffic okay..make a toggleable eye button where i can see or not see my ip so that if am browsing live it doesn't cause my ip to be public?

Relevant to Firefox running on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux and an x86_64 platform.

Until roughly 2/2026, it was possible to load a security device by opening Settings, Privacy and Security, Security Devices, then browsing to a shared pkcs11 shared library, in my case /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opensc-pkcs11.so, and clicking Load. The shared library would load and would be loaded subsequently whenever Firefox was started. For roughly the last two months, Firefox would pop up an error saying it was not possible to load the security device, but it would actually be loaded and it;s functionality would be available for the current session. For the last two weeks, the library would load without error, but only for the current session. Starting on 4/13/2026, some functions in opensc-pkcs11.so work, but not others. For example, it is no longer possible to connect to MS Teams web interface.

Some users are abandoning Firefox because of the difficulty of protecting against Firefox fingerprinting. Therefore, I strongly recommend adding an option in the settings that allows the digital fingerprints to be made random, or at least, if it is difficult, to make the fingerprints indistinguishable. Microsoft and Google are part of Anthropic's Project Glasswing but Mozilla is not. I am concerned about Firefox security if Mozilla in not being included. What is your plan to participate? Do I need to switch browsers in the meantime? Please advise. Thanks.

I recently switched operating systems from W11 to Linux (Zorin), and installed a new copy of Firefox. I rely on local web pages I have written for some of my work, but the new copy of Firefox does not find the file. For example, when accessing an image, e.g., file:///magrathea/dmpase/home/index/coastal24.png, Firefox gives the message:

File not found Firefox can’t connect to the server at local file What can you do about it? Check to make sure you’ve typed the website address correctly.

The address is correct, that is, the file resides at: /magrathea/dmpase/home/index/coastal24.png and the user does have permissions to read the file. I've tried adding up to five '/' characters to the beginning, and I have turned off all of my installed add-ons, but without success.

An apparently related problem is that double clicking on a '.htm' file also changes the address, for example, from '/home/dmpase/Desktop/index.htm' to 'file:///run/user/1000/doc/f07a8988/index.htm'

And finally, the "Brave" browser is able to read the files with no errors.

How do I fix this for Firefox?
