I don't use Archives or Templates. There is no folder on my servers that correspond to these and they are not subscribed in my IMAP settings.

They don't appear in the per-account view. But they somehow appear in the unified folder view.

I am not able to figure out how to make them disappear.

Help.

Running 149.0.2 on Mac. Reorganized IMAP folders in Roundcube webmail. Thunderbird still shows old structure. Deleted folderCache.json, no change. No Subscribe option in right-click menu. Many thanks!

After I migrated everything to a different computer, 'Local folders' no longer appears in the side bar, so I cannot archive messages locally.

Can some kind person please help me to reinstate it?

Sorry for long post. Struggling to get backup done, running out of time and other things in life now getting really urgent . Got my Yahoo Mail headache again today. Please can someone advise me? Thunderbird 150.0.2, Mac OS 10.15 7 Catalina, 2018 Macbook Pro.

Not tech-savvy so finding it hard to find what settings to use in TB. Other people's post answers always seem to show dialog options I'm not seeing on my computer

AIMS: - Prevent folders from deleting in my backup, if I delete stuff on Yahoo. - Backup Yahoo emails to a stable, local copy on an external drive, so I can access old emails + attachments independently without it trying to reconnect / synch with Yahoo Mail - After backup, delete more mail to reduce YM storage from 39GB to less than 15. Feel reluctant to do this yet, as I already lost a big folder of work from my backup by trying to muddle my way through this. - Ideally would like to end up with a local copy I can access in Mail Backup X What I've tried; - Backup using Mail Backup X. Took 18 hours and some large folders were incomplete so I tried again after splitting them up in Yahoo Mail. I liked the software but something went wrong on the 2nd try and it now won't connect to Yahoo at all. Deleted and replaced 3rd party password multiple times. Server details are accepted, but then the icon just spins endlessly, hence trying Tbird instead. Deleted the MBX account which meant no error logs available (Yes. I should not have done that). - Tried both IMAP and POP backup using TBird - have added TBird ImportExport add-on but have no idea what settings to use, advice welcomed Questions/assumptions that may be wrong: - Was advised to use server export.imap.mail.yahoo.com, what's the reason for this and would it work? Can't remember if Yahoo allowed me to enter this setting. Sorry, hard to recall as I tried so many times. - POP only backs up 1 folder - Inbox. Really?? that's not a solution then - TBird's default is IMAP so surely it would always try and connect to synch, and so would any copied backup accounts? - if I get the ImportExport add-on settings right, can I *really* achieve the goal of a local offline backup I can trust, that I could keep on an external drive and access later via Mail Backup X?

One of my email accounts will not connect. It was working but has not connected for two days. The message says log in failed for X@yahoo.com.

Thunder bird version 140.10.Oesr on iMac desktop. Just stopped DL mail. Asked me to sign in; shows my user name. When I click NEXT it goes to a blank page and say "too many trys" Next dy; say on first attmpt.

When checking for new email a pop asking for the username and password of the for the email server. Also when a separate email client is downloaded. This only happens when. using a mac book pro. No problem when. using Ubuntu.

In my Thunderbird Profiles folder, I can drill down to ImapMail. I see multiple subfolders prefixed with my imap server name. eg:

- imap.server-5.com 10.85GB - imap.server-3.com 8.83 GB

and so on. The datestamp on each is different.

Within the two examples above is a large Inbox folder taking up ~8.8GB.

The size doesn't concern me as much as the fact of having two of these. I'd like to understand what Thunderbird is doing under the hood here. Does it create new imap.server-#.com folders periodically as backup/recovery folders?

I'd like to recover space where possible but if these are protective measures, I could live with that. However, if it creates future folders and replicates 8+GB of data multiple times, I'd like to know what steps I can take to free up disk space.

I seem to have caused my emails to disappear completely. I cannot find them anywhere on my macbook. I don't think there has been anything unusual from outside sources.

I fully expect that I am the cause of it, I am getting old and my so are my eyes and fingers.

For the last 2 days or so, I cannot receive emails in Thunderbird from my Comcast email account, The app receives from other accounts. The app also sends emails from all my accounts, lets me read already-received messages and move the messages to other folders as it usually does. I just can't receive emails from Comcast/Xfinity. I note that Thunderbird had a update a few days ago.

My computer has not worked for nine months.

I've been looking at my e-mail on my phone (not in Thunderbird for Android, which pretended to send my messages but didn't). I want it on my computer.

I didn't want to do that right away, but it looks like Thunderbird started doing that automatically when I launched it. It successfully got my small account, of course, but not my big one.

It's been stuck on this for more than 12 hours. (See image. My apologies, I've forgotten how to embed them.)

Is it safe to shut the process down? Whether it is or isn't, what do I do next?

My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), running OS X.15 (Catalina), with Thunderbird 140.0.1esr (64-bit). The process started before I could upgrade to 149esr.

Hi there. I'm looking for a shortcut that takes me from the folderlist pane to the message pane and the first new message, when I'm on the inbox folder. The tab is not good. It moves between to many fields/options.

Thunderbird (actual version) is demanding constantly for caldav- and carddav authentications although the two mail accounts are deleted in Thunderbird. How can I get rid of these annoying messages?

I had an issue with my Thundebrid 148.0 (aarch64) running on Mac OS Squoia. I am using it since 2012 and had no issies. But last week when I was trying to empty the trash in the app, it got deleted everything! I had my saved local folder intact. But all IMAP data was errased. Luckily my hostng company were able to restore the back up, but I lost almost a day of emails. Please look into that issue and let me know.

good morning , I am using a mac mini 8 gb ram and the latest ios, avg antivirus and vpn. Following the latest ios update in feb/2026 thunderbird opens then locks with a rotating color circle and force quit is needed to close it. Emails are via the imap and smtp protocols, with both not being recognised by the server. Can you help, I need access to files from thunderbird. Can this be done offline, avoiding the server problem. thank you for your help. Jeff
