Good morning.

Problem 1. I've been using Thunderbird for a very long time. Everything has always been fine. But recently, I've been having trouble sending email from one of my accounts. When I try to send a message, a message appears: enter the password for the user... Entering the password doesn't help, and another message appears asking me to contact the network administrator. I contacted them, but they didn't find the cause of the problem, but they suggested changing the password, which I did, and reinstalling Thunderbird, which I didn't do for fear of losing all my email. Changing the password helped for maybe two weeks, and then the problem started all over again. The problem only affects one email address and only on one computer. Sending messages from that address on Android works without any problems.

Problem 2. I installed Thunderbird on my Android phone and encountered a problem when adding two accounts: the first installed without a problem, but I can't install the second one because every time I try, I get a message that the incoming mail server check failed - unknown error 42.

Problem 3. I'm trying to install the program on my second phone - it downloads 99% from the Google Play Store and that's it.

Is there any way to solve these problems, or should I change my email program? Best regards, Andrzej Witkowski

This issue has been confirmed on 140.3.1esr (64-bit).

When adding a new account via IMAPS/SMTPs connection, if it's the first time saving a draft or sending an email, the emails do not move to the Drafts or Sent Items folders as expected. Instead, they move to a newly created folder in the Local Folders. Furthermore, the special folder settings in the account configuration automatically change to point to the Local Folders instead of the connected IMAPs folder.

Testing with Thunderbird 128.14.0esr did not reproduce this issue.

I suspect this issue might stem from a mapping problem with Japanese folder names in the Japanese localization. (e.g., “下書き” as “Drafts”, ‘送信済みトレイ’ as “Sent”, etc...) Alternatively, could this be a change in behavior?

Thank you for your assistance.

The new machine is not quick to send a post to junk or trash. I see a message about downloading it before I see it move. Going over settings comparing both, old machine was set to a Pop mail server. The remote helper changed that oh New one to IMAP Mail server. I'm assuming that is the problem but I can't find how to change the new setting from IMAP to POP. There is a red Delete button on the A/C settings page. Should I try that?

Also since I couldn’t use the profile from corrupted old machine I've manually input everything in the new. I have used the Draft files in the old machine as a sort of reminder for me and want to copy it and bring it Into the new machine. Is there a way to do that?

I hope this is concise enough.

Hello,

After moving to a new PC and installing the latest version of Thunderbird, I’m unable to add my long-standing Yahoo Mail account which had been working flawlessly in TB for nearly 20 years.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Followed the official Thunderbird and Yahoo help documentation

Tried various community/AI suggestions

Generated and used a Yahoo application password

Thunderbird gets stuck at the “Your full name, email address” step and does not proceed to request a password. It also no longer shows the option to configure the account manually.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there a workaround to force manual account setup or bypass this initial block?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Bertrand
