Why isn't there a simple means to remove/prevent searches for the address bar, using config doesn't work.

I've used Firefox for over twenty years, this annoyance will end that and force a move to Brave.

At some point I decided to use default tab wallpapers by Mozilla. With an update of home menu 151.0 , there is a new logo in the center "Firefox". You can see it on (screenshot 1). It covers any background picture, in my case a tail of the fox. I can't figure out how to hide this logo. I have one icon on my taskbar already; having it in the layout is just a redundancy. Obviously i know that i use Firefox there is no need to remind me that

A little extra note: The layout reflow of the logo works bad when the window is resized. It's not centralized.(screenshot 2).

The only band-aid that i see is in Settings >> New tabs >> Blank Page. It turns of wallpapers and whole layout of homepage which is not my target (screenshot 3).

I use Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS , snap Firefox 151.0.1

I mistakenly agreed to update Firefox to V 151.02. Once again I regret it but there is no way to turn off the stupid prompt windows telling to you to update.

Now when i open a new tab , the wasted space on my COMPUTER screen is incredible. Instead of the old format withm3 wide "columns" of suggested stories/articles it is now one prominent, and a narrow list of only two wide. requiring me to scroll down twice as far as I used to. I have large white blank unused screen space being wasted. It seems to be optimized for only people who use their narrow phone screens only in portrait mode.

I hate the random useless changes that affect my normal everyday usage of the browser, without any options to go back to old formats or settings.

I am actually thinking of switching to EDGE, or Chrome on my Windows computers.

Wish Mitchel was still my student as I would vocalize my complaint directly to them. But that was back in the days when it was a responsive community .org. Not the now privatized for profit entity that Mozilla has become.

As i had to create another useless account just to submit any sort of feedback, watch as I get constant useless emails with no relevance to anything in my life, as all i wanted was a simple way to make my screen the same as it was for the past versions

I like the concept of having various news articles & topics of interest on the Start Page. However, I don't like the fact that many of the links take me to "subscriber only" sites, and ones that I have no subscription to! We should be able to eliminate those sites we can't read the articles on, it would be pretty easy to have that option, instead of our having to waste time, going on wild goose chases!

And I first attempted to log in to the feedback & suggestions page, however Firefox's own password auto-fill, kept putting in the wrong password, (one for a completely different site), and when I searched to find the correct password, it was too late. Soon as I entered the correct one, it locked me out, saying too many consecutive attempts had been made! To make it worse, the error message gave no info as to what my next step should be!! It didn't say to try later, how much later, provided no link to a page to reset my password, no "forgot password" option, nothing. Why is logging in on Mozilla's own, various sites, always seem to be so buggy? I've had more issues just trying to log in, than I ever should have, no idea why this happens so often, although with the auto-fill inputting the wrong information, that could be one reason.

I'm sorry, maybe the problem was there in previous versions however I just noticed it. Or rather the absence of it. The problem is when I open a new tab where I had that mini weather report widget enabled (and I checked that the button in the settings is set to be enabled) the widget is not there anymore, nowhere to be seen.

I made two screenshots of my browser's new tab with no weather widget and one with the settings open to show that the weather widget on/off button is enabled. I'm sorry however that I had to blur things I thought it would be sensitive information.

My OS is Win11 Home Greek and my Firefox is in Greek as well.

There are some articles that are biased with some real misinformation. One person has an experience and the author is purported to be an expert just because they have some degree with little or no relevance to real world people, just some niche group who would like to be considered mainstream. As much as I love the start page with some interesting articles, it seems most days lately, theories put forth as facts are out of touch with mainstream America.

Hi,

I noticed that somewhat recently the way new tab loooks has changed.

I always liked having it zoomed in, but I noticed that now when I zoom it in - it focuses on the empty space above tiles, which makes no sense to me. Ideally I would want the firefox logo to always be on top to get rid of the empty space and show more tiles.

This pretty much summarizes the issue, I hope it makes sense. Included a screenshot of what I am taking about.

Hello,

After today's FF update my new tab has the FF logo obscuring the image. I've tried removing it in about:config by setting this preference to false: browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.logowordmark.alwaysVisible But it didn't work.

I don't want the logo and also don't want the search bar. I want just the image.

When that didn't work, I tried going to Settings->Home->New Windows and Tabs I was able to set Homepage and New Windows to a Custom URL, but not New Tabs.

What's up with this??

I read somewhere to try using a custom css and set the attribute of .logo-and-wordmark to none. I don't know how to do that.

Is there a workaround that doesn't involve creating a custom css? If not, I'd like some advice on how to create a css.

Many Thanks! - Andre'a

FIXED IT - browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.nova.enabled turned to False! Ok to delete my question. I don't see how to do it. Thanks.

Firefox was updated yesterday. Now I have a large white area above the Firefox logo, and the second row of the tiles is at the very bottom of the screen. I have poor eyesight, and I need to use the internet Zoom setting at 120%. Everything was fine before the update. Please see attached - this is just the left side snippet, but you can see the center of the page is all in the lower half. I'm not tech-savvy, so please give me plenty of steps. Thanks.
