I'm looking for help in transferring everything from Firefox to Chrome. If anyone knows how, because Google isn't being the best help at the moment. I have a Chromebook, so it's been tough trying to download Firefox. I'm looking for a way to move what I need onto the laptop without having to start from scratch and do things one by one, which is too many things. If anyone knows how, please don't hesitate to answer.

I am trying to change my browser from Chrome to Firefox. I am having trouble importing bookmarks etc. When I select the versions to import, only one option from Chrome is displayed in the list - it's the version/setting of SOME years ago. What can I do to import current bookmarks?

The "import bookmarks" doesn't work on my ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS running on an old macbook air. I exported bookmarks from my chrome. when i try the import from file, it says "bookmarks exported successfully", but the bookmarks don't show up anywhere. attached screenshots. what am i missing? thanks, Nilesh

I recently switched to mozilla from chrome. I tried to import everything from chrome. But it could not import the saved password. Can you help me identify the cause that is preventing login details import from chrome?

I have depended and supported the use of firefox as my default browser. I have always backed up my extremely large bookmark file in html. yesterday I went to use brouser and my toolbar and bookmarks were gone. after wasting most of my day trying to retreave them. I have tried to import from html file, other browser. I keep getting error message. says cause is file being used by something else. i have tried uninstall reinstall, system restore, disabling all virus protection.plus more. I have had to use edge and chrome!!!!! AHHHH need a solution.

Hello I need to solve the following problem: My daughter can no longer access her Windows 11 PC -> profile issue. Can I save C:\...\profiles for her Firefox bookmarks, reset Windows, install FF, and copy back the profiles folder. Or import the bookmarks from profiles into the new FF?

hi, is it possible to import cookies.txt from another browser without using any extensions? im asking that since when im trying to import bookmarks, passwords or whatever, my previous browser that i was using is not on the list.

Good afternoon, I had to format my PC and when I installed Firefox, when I logged in, I noticed that it didn't import the bookmarks I had associated with the account (as I always do) or the saved passwords. Everything disappeared. Why? Can I recover this data? Thank you.

How can export all of my bookmarks in Firefox?

I have moved to a new laptop and followed the advice in how to back up and restore to transfer history and bookmarks. However only a small part of the history and bookmarks have come across

I want to import web page bookmarks from MS Edge. I tried to do it per the settings help page, but I cannot get my firefox bookmarks to populate with the ones from my Edge browser. This problem is a deal breaker that may send me (under duress) back to MS Edge, and I really don't want that.

i'm on an old macbook air running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. i exported my chrome bookmarks into an html file, and tried importing them into firefox. firefox says "577 bookmarks imported", but not a single one shows up anywhere in the firefox bookmarks. what am i missing? Thanks, Nilesh

Hi, I cannot import my Firefox bookmarks from my macbook pro 2021 to my macbook pro 2024. When I select "import data", only Safari show up, not Firefox, which has been my default browser for many years. Please help me, thanks, cindi

I'm in the process of exporting my FireFox bookmarks as html files.

In this process I noticed that everytime I save (export bookmarks as html) as a file a location on my disk, then open up that file to inspect/check - I notice that FireFox appends to the exported file rather than replace. Even though it asks if I want to replace the existing file during the save dialogue.

I'm using win 8.1

So, that's fine I though, 'let's' just delete that file and start over. Long story short, it does not work; I did the following.

Before closing FireFox I went into FireFox settings and click on all catagories of History - and cleared. I then closed FireFox then in Windows Explorer went to where the original file (exported html bookmarks), and deleted that file directly from windows.

I then opened up FireFox again and exported the my bookmarks as html to the same location again. Even though that destination no longer has a file from before - when I reopen the just now newly export html bookmark file - I see the contents are the same as before - (I has the appended/duplicated html bookmarks).

It's like instead of exporting the bookmarks I actually see in FireFox, it is referring to some saved information somewhere instead and saving that.

How can I export what bookmarks and folders I actually see in FireFox instead of some internal bookmarks/folders FireFox thinks I have - In other words - is there some file I can delete or setting to clear?

I am trying to figure out how to import my saved internet bookmarks from Mozilla. I saved them earlier today (I think) on my old computer that I'm replacing; had to create an account, which I did)... and now trying to figure out how -- on my new computer -- to import them.

My laptop died and I have the SSD in a caddy connected to a spare PC. In order to import logins it looks like I need to convert the existing logins.json file to a csv. Not so keen to upload this to an online site. Tried excel to no avail. I have also attempted to copy and paste with Firefox closed. The file is there but passwords do not load into Firefox. Any suggestions appreciated.
