Suddenly no content appears when I click on some of inbox items. For the rest, I get code, rather than normal text, and the content is unrelated to sender/heading. Trash folder vanished entirely; but when I rechecked a day later, now seems normal. No such luck with the Inbox. I've read of the right click/properties/repair suggestion, but my right click on inbox/properties doesn't turn up a repair option. I'm running version 24.4.0. Help!

Chosen solution

The answer is to right click the problem folder and select Properties. Then click the button labeled Repair Folder.

I have no idea what you are doing to not see this option.

Be prepared to lose messages if the corruption is too bad to recover them. Then read this article on how to maintain your folders to prevent the problem in the future. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keep_it_working_-_Thunderbird

InBox>Properties didn't produce a Repair Folder button. But Home Account >properties did - and for the InBox! And the Repair Folder button appears to have solved my problem. I',m most grateful.
