So the experiment: Same youtube video, same quality, same codec(vp9)

Results: https://user-media-prod-cdn.itsre-sumo.mozilla.net/uploads/images/2021-08-18-13-07-56-324fca.png https://user-media-prod-cdn.itsre-sumo.mozilla.net/uploads/images/2021-08-18-13-08-27-fa55f2.png

DWM + Firefox = 12-13% GPU usage DWM + Edge(Chromium) = 6% GPU usage

The heavier video is, the more difference there are. Changing codec to h256, changes nothing in GPU usage.

I love firefox, but this thing forces me to change my default browser. This difference in gpu usage is especially important with laptops, more usage => more heat => louder vents => faster battery drain. Is there something i can do with my firefox to have similar GPU usage as it is on Chromium based browsers?
