how do I delete IMAP local mailbox files and credentials completely when deleting an account?

Simply removing the accounts and uninstalling the app didn't do it. I am giving a computer away and I need all traces of my personal data completely and totally deleted.

Well, I'd just reformat the whole thing.

Anyhow, to eliminate your personal stuff in Thunderbird, delete its profile.
