Is there a way to import addresses and custom message data for each recipient from an excel file?

Hi,

We make appointment schedules in an excel file and advise each customer manually of their appointment (some customer bases have thousands of individuals). Is there a way I can import all the email addresses and custom appointment data to be able to send mass emails with individual appointment times on there? I am trying to do this in-house rather than outside to another email/scheduler. Also, I am the complete antithesis of a tech savvy individual. I don't even know if I asked the right question. Any guidance would be amazing!

It sounds like you need Mail Merge, which can use either the Thunderbird Address Book or an external CSV file to generate personalized messages.

I don't have any call for this feature myself, so very little experience with it. I get the impression it's a little fragile. For instance, I hear that if there is a failure, it's not easy to resume without the risk of sending again to all those who it has already sent to.

I have heard recommendations for the mail shot feature of the free Libre Office suite, which has its own smtp client, so works independently of your email client.
