How can I change Thunderbird to send HTML

more options

I recently upgraded Thunderbird and now it only send plain text messages without the security it previously had when I had enigma running. How can I choose between sending HTML or post a signed message verified by enigma.

Thanks in Advance

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the problem is not solved with your answer.

I did however find what was preventing yours and similar solutions from working. Here it is: 1. Under the menu item 'tools' choose 'account settings' from the drop down menu. 2. Select the account you want to write in HTML instead of plain text and select 'Composition & Addressing. 3. In the very first line of this item is a box you can tick with the words beside it: 'Compose messages in HTML format"

That's all there is to it. The original problem was caused by wanting to send 'digitally signed messages' when a few people tried to impersonate me. Why is not something I can understand because I'm just your average multi millionaire (only joking) no I'm a nobody in anything important but I guess some people do things just for amusement.

Yoursolution BTW will apply from now on because I'll be given the choice to sent text or HTML. With enigma, it forces text composition or it cannot digitally sign the message.

in a write window, if you dont see the dropdownmenu click F10 choose alternatives - how to deliver (under code) choose both (plaintext and HTML)

Back at dropdown-meny get to show /tools and pic them all (or not)

As i reread your q i was aware tha it was with enigma (enigmail??) you wanted HTML, as far as I know Enigmail turns of html by default because its not safe (see side 19 in english pdf-handbook) https://enigmail.net/documentation/handbook.php
