  1. See How to set the home page
  2. Or go to about:config page.
  3. Search for browser.startup.homepage change its value to:
    • about:home – default.
    • about:blank – blank page.
    • about:newtab – new tab page.
    • URL – an url of one page that you want.
  4. Or search for browser.startup.page change its value to:
    • 0 - start with a blank page (about:blank).
    • 1 - start with the web page(s) defined as the home page(s). (Default)
    • 2 - load the last visited page.
    • 3 - resume the previous browser session.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
