I used to be able to type something into the address bar and the website would automatically come up. (For example, if I typed "facebook" www.facebook.com would automatically come up. Same with anything else I typed- the top result website would come up.) Now it brings up a Google page with the search results. How do I get it to go back to bringing the page up automatically instead?

(I've tried the about:config, keyword.url, then that long link that has Google in it... it doesn't work.)

Starting with Firefox 23 the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar that way.
The search engine that is used in the location bar is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.

So, does that mean it's impossible to get it to automatically bring the sites up again? I'm not sure what those other links are trying to say exactly.
