I noticed when visiting certain sites that even after clearing all options in the browsing history. For instance if you goto TheChive.com then clear ALL your browsing history, everything, reload firefox and start typing TheChive.com in the location bar, it auto suggests it again. I have my location bar only suggesting sites from the history. So again I tried clearing my browsing history and no go, it still auto suggests sites. How do I fix or is this a bug with firefox?

In Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General, there is a check box about 'Searching for text as you type it', maybe un-check that?

I have firefox 15.0 there is no preferences in edit. However, In Tools > Options > Advanced > General "Search for text when I start typing" is not checked. Any other ideas?
