i have windows 7 but my firefox has stopped working - help

Depsite being able to connect to the internet I am unable to connect to any web pages. This has only started happening since June 1st & I have not made any updates to Windows or Firefox prior. I note that Firefox no longer works with Windows 2000 or XP, but I have Windows 7. Other internet browsers work. I have completed the suggested solutions on the 'troubleshoot' page for 'other browsers work' but to no avail. Help!

Can you open Firefox?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Thanks for your help; however, unfortunately creating a new profile didn't work. Further, I cannot even access the Firefox website, just the about: pages.
