why is firefox taking so long to connect to every website I go to?

everytime i go to a website the connection takes a very long time to go thru, and when it does finally pull the website up it doesn't connect fully and the green connection keeps going around and around,

Hi,
Please check if this happens in Safe Mode.

You can also try No Proxy in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings. Options > Advanced
Please also note that security software that does network traffic scanning or URL scanning can slow down the connection.
