I am accustomed to using IE and Favorites for quick access. Most Visited is similar to what I want to do. How can I add websites to "Most Visited" tab?

"Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" are examples of the so called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not real existing folders.
Such smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the bookmarks and the history in Firefox.

"Most Visited" shows a list of websites that have the highest visit count, so if you want sites to appear in that list then you need to visit a site often enough to make it match the visit count of other sites in that list.
You can see the visit count in the Library if you make that column visible (View > Show Columns).
It may be easier to create your own folder with favorite sites and place a copy of a bookmark in that folder.
That will also allow you to sort them as you like.
