Lost bookmarks after upgrading ff 5X to 8.0
Was running Firefox 5.x upgraded to 8.o now almost all my bookmarks are gone. The ones I had saved on the bookmark toolbar are there but everything else is gone.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
