desktop bookmark icons will not connect to website

I dragged the website to the desktop, but it will not open to the website now. I've tried multiple websites to see if others would work, to no avail.

Such internet shortcuts on the desktop open the default browser. So make sure that you have set Firefox (or another browser) as the default browser.
