i have W7HPx64 but firefox plugins update showed my firefox installed as 32-bit when i tried to update Java RE

why is my firefox installed as 32-bit ['mozilla firefox' folder is in 'Program Files (x86)' folder] whereas my OS (W7HP) is 64-bit. so i should choose which (32- or 64-bit) version of software for firefox plugin update

Firefox for Windows is currently only 32 bit. Mozilla are developing a 64 bit version but it has not yet been released.
