I am migrating from Firefox for U3 on one thumb drive, to PortableApps version on another thumbdrive, on the same laptop, it won't recognize them as 2 different browsers. Can it be synced between 2 versions of FF on the same pc?

What are you using to "sync"?
Firefox Sync should work, as long as both browsers are Firefox 3,5 or higher.
Yes, Firefox sync. I installed it on my old browser first, created the Sync account, and clicked sync now. I closed it, opened the new browser, installed Sync, logged in. It did nothing, so I clicked sync, it still did nothing. Both browsers are 3.6.
