How to customize submenu colours
I use Bookmark Toolbar a lot. It has several menus, with submenus. But when they layer over top of each other, I get lost in which layer I am on and too often my mouse moves off the top layer, which closes it.
I would like to somehow change the colour of the menus, depending on the layer. Currently they seem to all be kinda grey, regardless of theme.
But if the first dropdown menu could be yellow and then the next be blue ... or whatever, it would be most helpful.
I suspect this is something that could be effected in userChrome.css, but I have no idea what to put in there to target the menus.
Any help or guidance you can provide is much appreciated.
Thanks!

You may want to figure out the exact descendants and the method the color tokens are applied for the items, but for the general nesting the selectors can be e.g.: (add more "menupopup" in the nesting to select the next folder)
Thanks for the reply. That looks very similar to other things I have found (and tried) via search and none of them work.
I tried this anyway and it also does not work.
I am looking for a background colour change, not to change the border colours, however I tried it anyway and it does not even change the border colour.
Yes, I restarted Firefox.
I have other things in the userChrome.css that I removed to make sure they weren't interfering (mostly about menu padding) and still did not work.
Is there any other way to do this?
Not sure. I just quickly verified the selectors are accessible in the current version so it can be customized.
You'll find more insight in communities like on reddit if you search for "FirefoxCSS" and/or look for the various fan sites hosting example tweaks — you might be able to find something already vetted and verified working to just repurpose to what you'd like to achieve.
