I use McAfee, it keeps opening a popup window in the corner of my browser that i cannot get rid of. popup starts with "We have scanner pages for tracker...."

That's most likely a push notification. See support.mozilla.org/questions/1542266 — you just need to revoke the scam site's permission granted earlier.
