Is there a setting in Firefox browser that would make Instagram login keep looping?

melandrobyn8983

My Instagram login just loops between login page and Captcha page. I have tried every suggestion from Instagram but no success.

Hi.

Have you tried clearing cookies and site data for Instagram

No, there is not.

But some stale session data could be the culprit.

Here are some standard troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue:

  1. Start with clearing Firefox cache.
  2. If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
  3. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
  4. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon in the left part of the address bar. If ETP is enabled, try disabling it.
  5. If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.

Thanks amoun. How do I do that for Instagram as opposed to doing it for the browser itself? Thanks jbr, I have done all of that (except the above). But if I create a new profile how do copy files when I can't log in to the old one? I don't understand why this is such a common issue and there is no simple fix.

Basically the fastest test is opening a new Private Window and trying to sign in there.

Removing data for a single site is done from the "shield" icon in front of the address bar when you're on that site, and selecting "Clear cookies and site data…"

This is question for Meta really, as it's their security decision 🤷
