Migrate emails to another provider

Nicholas Uchôa

I have an email address and I want to migrate those emails to a gmail address. The problem is that I have around 2300 emails. I'm copying about 200 emails to the gmail address. The problem is that is taking too long and it's not copying all of them.

What if I copy all of emails wait to sycronize it and then copy it again? It will work? Or is there another way to do that?

What you are doing is not really supported, although it generally works.

Mostly you need to disable any email scanning to make the process faster,

The only email client that I'm using is thunderbird. Email scanning is an option or program?

Can I forward several emails at once? That might be a solution for me.

The best approach is to copy the old account's messages to local folders in Thunderbird. After that, you can leave them there and/or upload them to a server.

Matt's point is that scanning for viruses slows copying of messages to and from IMAP folders. If you are using anti-virus software, disable it and see if your messages are copied faster.
