Digital signing and encrypting : Where can I see/read what EXACTLY causes an "Invalid Signature" of/in an received mail ?

When receiving signed AND encrypted mails from an Outlook-account I get the exclamation sign for the signature.
The message is (German) : "Digitale Signatur ist ungültig Diese Nachricht enthält eine digitale Signatur, die aber ungültig ist. Die Nachricht wurde mit einer Verschlüsselungsstärke signiert, die von dieser Version Ihrer Software nicht unterstützt wird. Signiert von...."
I already did all standard checks (trusted, new hash algorithm and so on),
Now I would like to know the EXACT reason why Thunderbird is not accepting the digital signature. How can I accomplish this?

The sender may use a different encryption method that is not compatible with your Thunderbird. You can ask the sender to resent the email using an encryption method that Thunderbird knows.

I want to find out, what exactly makes Thunderbird to reject that signature. Everything else is just guessing ;-)

Ok. If you really want to find out, I think the source code of Thunderbird is available. The best way is to have a look at the related code.

But I won't agree. I hope for a better solution for an end-user than reviewing the source code 8-O
So - I'm looking for a kind of a logging feature or similar. There I would love to read lines like :
The hashing algorithm of the signature is "bla", but Thunderbird does not support "bla". Least supported algorithm is "foo".
The lines above are just an example.
