How can I fix firefox's broken bookmarks system?

I prefer to store my bookmarks under a system of my choosing. As it is, I'm forced into having to decide between "mobile bookmarks", "desktop bookmarks", "bookmarks toolbar", and "other bookmarks". All I need is to force my bookmarks into "desktop bookmarks" whether on mobile or desktop (since Firefox demands to tell me how to store bookmarks).

In using just "mobile bookmarks", I risk losing them if I have to juggle around apps on my device (upgrading firefox only to have to reinstall because updates tend to be downgrades).

Is there some way to make Firefox (mobile and desktop) default to just "desktop bookmarks", and not any of those other folders that are being crammed into Firefox?

Hi

By default, Firefox for Android will save bookmarks to mobile bookmarks. You can change the folder for a bookmark by long pressing on the bookmark and editing it's details.
