I download Firefox but when I try to open it, I get a "File not found" error message.

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and MS Office 2019 Professional Plus and need to re-install a lot of stuff. I want to download Firefox to use as my default web browser. When I download and install, the icon shows up on my desktop all right, but when I click the icon to open the browser, the tab says "Problem loading page" and displays "File not found" error message (screenshot attached here).

Does this have anything to do with the "Sync" option that keeps popping up? I don't know what that means, except it looks like it wants to "sync" my computer with my phone or any other devices, which I don't have any interest in.

Please help! Thank you!

hello brass,

the folder you provided seems to be really screwed up. perhaps, there is an issue with the computer memory or the hard disk.

in any case, the icon should be pointing/targeting/executing the following:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

Thank you for your rapid response. I am saving the .exe into a file in case I need it at another time.

It turns out that the problem resolved itself. I thought to uninstall Firefox so I could start fresh, and there was a reload or reconfigure option, so I tried that first. That took care of it! It's working just fine now. (Magic!)

Thanks again - I really appreciate your attention to this, for it might have been that I needed your solution.
