Firefox won't stream Amazon Prime videos correctly

Sometimes, especially in the afternoon, Firefox will not properly stream Amazon Prime videos. The videos play in a very jumpy way. I am sick and tired of this. They work fine in Chrome. What's up Firefox. Do you really want me to switch to Chrome?

I assume that this is DRM protected content?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Content Blocking is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console about what content is blocked

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Thank you. I have no idea what DRM is.

I updated Adblock, but I doubt that is the problem. The problem is INTERMITTENT, and like I said, seems to occur as said above.

Other things you mention have been done in past or don't apply.

Does Amazon Prime use an HTML5 media player or a Flash based player?

You can check via the right-click context menu of the player area what type of media player is used. A Flash based player shows a context menu with the Flash version.

Does the size of the player make a difference?

I do not have Flash installed, so it is using HTML5. Google Chrome plays vids without problem when Firefox doesn't. So it's go to be Firefox.

So how was your firefox update or installed?
