Can't download anything like adobe splash or java

Running windows xp and have latest firefox but cant get shockwave splash player or jave to be accepted. It seems to save the program but does nothing when I try to run it.

Hello lsosl, probably you have windows xp with sp2 or previous, because the newest adobe flash player(shockwave flash), needs at least xp with sp3.

also the same fro java, the latest needs Windows Vista SP2 and above, you can have only Java 7 ion win xp :
