I want to totally block all autoplay of videos, but what I've tried doesn't block videos of ABC news previews on Yahoo's main page. What to do?

I access the Internet at home via satellite (hughesnet). I have a very limited monthly allowance for downloading. I want to block ALL videos from playing, especially on a page like Yahoo, which I may have open in the background (I visit it frequently).

I've installed AdBlock Plus and Flash Block Plus. I've gone to about.config and changed the plugins.click_to_play to true.

And yet, I still see moving pictures when I visit Yahoo. Please help.

Go to Yahoo, and right click in the bad player area. Does it say what player is running?

Am attaching a printscreen image of information when I right-clicked and inspected as well as printscreen of the original item that loaded when i was on yahoo's main page. Here's hoping these provide the information you requested in your reply. Thank you!

Videos on Yahoo.com don't need Flash. So you can set Flash to 'Never Activate' in the Add-Ons Manager - Plugins.

I'd also turn on Tracking Protection, as this prevents the download of megabytes of Javascript code typically used by advertising networks to track you. It also makes pages load faster. http://lifehacker.com/turn-on-tracking-protection-in-firefox-to-make-pages-lo-1706946166

Wrt HTML5 video see http://www.ghacks.net/2015/06/11/finally-mozilla-adds-working-html5-video-autoplay-blocking-to-firefox/

Unfortunately, I don't think Firefox has a built-in feature to prevent loading of videos in the HTML5 video player if the site has set the video to autostart, or sends a script command to start it. Setting the media.autoplay.enabled preference to false pauses videos that sites start on their own, but they still partially download in the background. Perhaps someone has created an add-on to prevent them from loading at all.
