I only use Startpage.

Sure, i could put it on my home screen, that's what I do with safari.

Without any adblocking capabilities, and Startpage, I don't really see the advantage of Firefox, not well integrated with IOS.

There is a meta bug already on bugzilla where developer might be considering this. You can signup and comment on that bug or add yourself on cc list to get update regarding this feature implantation.
